Twisted Root Plants In Arlington, Along With (Yet Another) In-N-Out Burger

TWArl250.jpg
As part of Arlington's Re-identification Program, Twisted Root Burger Company is opening today at 300 E. Abram Street in the original downtown area of the city. By renovating an old furniture store, this Reader's Pick for Best Burger has quietly flown in under radar to this newest location.

Just a hop, skip and a stagger west of Collins and the stadiums, this freshly starched area now includes a Fuzzy's, Flying Fish, Babe's Chicken, Mellow Mushroom Pizza and Grease Monkey's Burgers, all attracting a mix of sports fans, UTA students and locals.

An In-N-Out Burger also opened less than two weeks ago near the Parks Mall in south Arlington. This ninth metroplex installment in five months from California was welcomed with substantially less fanfare then the first opening, leading us to wonder: at what number does a place lose its appeal?

Two, you say? Such a snob.

If it says Arlington, that's plenty to keep me away for good...

Still haven't eaten at the root or in and out. Their on my to-do list. I do have a burger warning for you though, do not go to the Purple Cow. Terrrrrrrrible. Good shakes though. You know what two places haven't lost their appeal to me in the past 10 years? Bone Daddy's and Rudy's BBQ. I could eat at those places everyday.

TRDP1,You hit it on the head...Bone Daddy's (food) is still as good as my first trip years ago and Rudy's (Pulled Pork) is wonderful each and every time.

I ate at the In and Out in Fort Worth a few weeks ago. Big ol' bag of meh. Nothing special.

I drove down Abrams on Sunday heading towards the game..they've really cleaned it up in the last couple of years.  It used to be J Gilligans, McD's and a Wendys...now there's plenty of options.

Yeah, they've done some good work down there. When I was in college you didn't go past Gilligan's. There wasn't anything down there. Good to see it's coming around.

Twisted Root and Babe's in Arlington? It's like downtown Roanoke...but with minorities!
