Five Lunch Ideas for National Boss Day

WorldsBestBoss.jpg
Officially, yesterday was National Boss Day. But for most of the working world, any day this week would work for excessive, strategic ass-kissing. If you forgot to get your boss that bottle of liquor, don't sweat it. We've got you covered. Here, our five best ideas for a lunch worthy of any boss.

(Lauren -- great idea for a story, but it's always better to be specific. Instead of "bottle of liquor," let's change to "giant bottle of Jameson." -- Thanks, Joe)

5. SpeedZone. The Parmesan garlic fries at the SpeedZone Café & Bar are the gift that keeps on giving. Follow that up with a few laps on the Slick Trax during which you prove you can dominate more than just a spreadsheet.

(Well, yeah -- it's nice to know your employee can win, but don't you think he should let the boss win? Not that the boss can't win on his own, but, you know. Just to be safe?)

4. Charlie Palmer for its swanky business lunch. Then make him pay. Works well for The Place at Perry's too.

(Really good one. That way he can act like he's paying and slyly bill it to the company.)

3. The Cedars Social for Mad Men-style drinks, like the Turf Cocktail No III, which in addition to Tennyson Absinthe has Hayman's Old Tom Gin, Dolin Rouge, Maraschino and Bookers Bitters. Afterward, instead of taking him back to the office, be a good employee and push him out of the car onto his front lawn where he can sleep it off.

(Great one! One thought, though. What if your boss doesn't have a lawn, per se? Could you instead leave him in the lobby of his apartment building? The gate code is 4523.)

2. Central Market for demo samples. In this era of fiscal prudence, show your boss you can be frugal and maintain high-standards.

(As long as you're not celebrating Boss Day on a furlough day.)

1. The Lodge. Can't beat Chef Nieto's weekday $10 lunch specials, served with a side of daddy issues.

(You're driving!)

The last boss I had was amazing.  Amazing in the sense that he really thought he was eff'ing brilliant.  Now, I only worked for him for 2.5 months, but, I'm positive, had I stayed, I would have bought him:-reality-man partsps-I really loved it when he would come into my office, and tell me how my how to do what I'd been doing for nearly two decades.  And in the same breath, treat me like I was 7.  My last day I left my sh%t on my desk, and was in Colorado by sunset. ps-It ain't ALWAYS about money.

My boss can eat poop. Not sure where the best place to get a plate is though.
