Il Cane Rosso Hosts Local Celebrity Chefs on Mondays In November

Seriously, would you let this guy in your kitchen?
In their super-neighborly way, Il Cane Rosso has invited local celebrity chefs to come over and play in their kitchen on Monday nights. "You cook, we'll clean," is about how the invite reads.

To which the invitees have responded, "You just sit there and look pretty. I got this."

So, starting Monday, November 7, guest chefs will work the Il Cane Rosso pizza pit and create their own pizzaiolo. For each celebrity-pizza sold, $1 will be donated that chef's charity of choice. At the end of the month, the chef who's sold the most pizzialos will win a "Cane Rosso Golden Peel."

The November lineup is as follows:

11/7 Brian Luscher from The Grape

11/14 Chad Houser and Janice Provost from Parigi

11/21 Randall "Big Cat" Copeland from Restaurant Ava

11/28 Jack Perkins from Maple & Motor

By now you might be saying, "But wait, Il Cane Rosso isn't open on Monday nights." Well, beginning November 7, not only are they open on Mondays from 5 to 10 p.m., it's also "Industry Night," with specials on food and drinks for those in the industry.

Starting October 25 they will also be open on Tuesdays for dinner from 5 to 10 p.m.

Chef Luscher, munching on fries in the photo above, just posted on his Facebook page about his night of pie glory: "Hmmmm.... What to do?"

That's easy. Bacon.

Sounds like Margaux and Mary know who I am.

So, is this "open Monday nights" a permanent thing?

Sheesh...I labeled them as "celebrities" and it's very tongue-in-cheek.  It's all for fun and everyone coming to help is someone that is fun to have a beer with and can take a joke.

Since when did Perkins become a chef, much less a celebrity chef.  I am pretty sure he doesn't even flip burgers at his grease trap.

Can you ask the "celebrity" chefs if it's cool that they are celebrities, and that no one, other than family and friends, know that they are said celebrities?  Also, can you ask them if CJ's money will be the same now that he's been spare in the playoff's?

Shees is right. The point is about pizza and possibly BACON pizza. Let's just focus on that.

I am neither a celebrity nor a chef and was invited to participate via TJ's Seafood Market.  Point being its for fun, its for charity and its going to be delicious - let's not get bogged down in semantics.

Yep.  I just hired some line cooks, told them to make some burgers, opened the doors and BAM!  Line out the door.  Who knew the business would be so easy.

No Margie, I'm not a chef.

And, don't ask him to make a "rare" pizza, either.
