Lakewood Bar and Grill Closes After 18 Years In East Dallas

• Oh for fuck's sake Ralphy.

• Sad to see this venue go;  but it has to be said that their bar food was crap ! Which brings up an interesting food topic:  What entertainment club/venue has the best food?

• I might be able to assume that West Village-y means lots of foot traffic with first-floor retail and restaurants, with apartments upstairs (sort of like every medium and big city east of the Mississippi), i.e. URBAN, but Phoenix-y seems just the opposite--SUB-URBAN, in every possible way.  Perhaps you might want to expound on those two concepts, since they seem to be contradictory.

• is this another causality to the soon-to-be changing facade of the Lakewood Shopping Center? higher rent is driving out businesses while a real estate group (from Phoenix, right?) bought the shopping center and is probably going to make it all Phoenix-y like or West Village-y.

• This is sad, LBG was a great little dive for live shows.  Local and national acts, edgy stuff like psychobilly and goth, low ticket prices...this economy is becoming really annoying.
