Gennarino's is Ready to Roll like a Friggitoria

The crew behind the frist Dallas friggitoria.
Gennarino's announced last night they are officially hitting the streets. Gimme a big FINE-A-FRICKIN'-LEE!

They've been teasing us about their Neapolitan-style friggitoria for over a month. Now, Raffealel, Armando and Alessio are ready to roll.

What is a "friggitoria," you ask? Well, in Italy it is a cart, truck or store where one can buy fried foods but also pizza, sandwiches, baked pastas, as well as traditional Neapolitan fare. All of which Gennarinon's has on their menu.

Last night they announced their first appearance, which will be in full rock-star style, and also happens to be on the day of the Feast of San Gennaro, their Patron Saint.

Here's the schedule ...

On Monday their big blue truck will be in Las Colinas, at 600 John Carpenter Fwy, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. And, for dinner is at 7720 N. MacArthur from 6 to 8 p.m.

Tuesday: 1425 Greenway Drive from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday: 600 E John Carpenter Fwy 11 a.m to 2 p.m. and 7720 N. MacArthur from 6 to 8 p.m.

They have a note on their Facebook page:

"Recommendation: Y'all need to try the Pizza Fritta (Fried Pizza). You're welcome. For what? For bringing the Pizza Fritta to Dallas. That's right, the first authentic friggitoria in the US of A is happy to introduce you to our specialty: A crispy, saucy, salty bundle of joy."

"Y'all." That's so cute. They're all still learning English but they got that word down. I have a feeling these kids are going to do great here. (Oh. And by "here" I mean outside of Dallas, but that's another story.)

I painted the van for these guys and you couldn't meet nicer folks if you tried. Great to see they are already being received with open arms by Irving. (Dallas won't give them a permit...good work Dallas. way to go.)
