This Sunday, October 2, chef Kent Rathbun of Abacus, Jasper's and Blue Plate Kitchen, and his wife, Tracy, will host their eighth annual Art Party benefiting the Dallas Division of March of Dimes. The event will feature works by local artists along with gourmet food and drinks.

"Together with these artists and the continued support of the Dallas community," Rathbun said, "we're able to showcase local talent in a fun and inviting atmosphere, all while raising money for March of Dimes, a worthwhile organization that's very important to Tracy and me."

The featured local artists for this year's event are painters Mindy Collins, Rick Griggs and Tamara White, sculptor and photographer Scott Harben, and glass workers Ron and Chris Marrs.

All the proceeds from ticket sales will directly benefit the Dallas Division of March of Dimes by supporting their missions of advocacy, community programs and education to ensure all babies are born healthy.

VIP tickets are $150 and include a special reception from 6-7 p.m., while regular tickets are $75 for 7-9 p.m. The Art Party is being held in the Rathbun Penthouse in the Heights Tower.

You can purchase tickets by visiting marchofdimes.com, or by calling (972) 232-1375.

Date: October 2
Location: Home of Kent & Tracy Rathbun, 8066 Park Lane
Schedule: 6- 7 p.m. - VIP Cocktail Reception and Pre-sale;

Did anyone actually insult the March of Dimes?

Two questions:

1.  Did you really just tell us to sit down and shut up?2.  Did you really think it would work?

I'll "pay respect" to March of Dimes when they actually cure something...

We enjoy simple gross out humor. We're not at all uppity like some people who comment on food blogs. RW is going to have his Sportatorium blog up and running at another location in a couple of weeks. Until then, deal with it.

Also, "their" not "there."

I think he feels that our comments are inherently disrespectful as they were not directly "on topic".

Doesn't excuse him from being a d!ck, though.

Agreed.....

I guess he also feels "being classy" includes calling our sports points "moronic".

When I think classy, I think name calling!
