Another In-N-Out Opens in Dallas in 3 ... 2 ...

If Thursday's opening is anything like the one in Frisco, there will be lines like this.

That's right, folks: Another In-N-Out lands in Dallas proper this week -- another place for you to drive by and think, Even I don't love burgers that much. That's just weird.

This one lands Thursday at 7909 LBJ Freeway, just near the 635-Coit interchange. So that won't cause any traffic. According to the press release, which was inexplicably not scratch-and-sniff, the new spot opens at 10:30 a.m. It will employ 60 team members who will make $10 per hour, and they will be managed by an In-N-Out veteran named Clint, who will make slightly more but, if memory serves, will not have to wear one of those funny hats. And you can't put a price on freedom, can you Clint?

Working in Allen temporarily I finally tried that one way up in Siberia: meh... I didn't even have to go get mine (which I hear is theater in itself), I got a smallish burger with raw onions. These are more like the Fifties-era White Castle: tiny burgers (good meat, good bread but boy, dullsville) and even tinier fries: do they hire legacy MacDonald's vets to cut the fries into 1/4-inch pieces? If I wanted peanuts with my burger, I'd ask. I am still impressed, in all things, by Steak and Shake, can't figure why they haven't made more of a move in this market.

Drove by the LBJ/Coit location today. Not open yet. They're still working on the building.

Having sampled them in CA, I don't think they're even as good as Steak-N-Shake.

Wait, they're putting one at 635 and Coit? Aren't they planning on one at 635 and Midway as well?

no plans for 635 Midway. The will have one at Beltline/Tollway

El Wrongo, Sir Jon Daniel. The old restaurant building on the SW corner of LBJ/Midway has been leveled and there is a "Coming Soon...In-N-Out Burger" sign on the fence. There is no planning for that intersection, there is dirt being moved and concrete being poured. Look for the opening of this location in about 120 days or less.

You are correct. I work across the street and that restaurant is being built faster then they cook burgers. I would expect the opening by October 1st.
