Irving T.G.I. Friday's Bites the Dust

Even restaurants with God in their names aren't immune to the economy. (Or maybe God got shorted on his order of potato skins.) The T.G.I. Friday's chains Irving location at 1001 MacArthur Park has closed. Every piece of T.G.I. Friday's flair and signage has been removed and all that remains is a sad hand-written sign that reads: "Sorry, we are closed," which is accompanied by a frown. But buck up, if you live in the Irving area and are craving food from T.G.I. Friday's you can go to DFW airport. There's a T.G.I. Friday's restaurant in almost every terminal.

And who says traveling is hell?

to do the Fridays at the airport you need to be going somewhere - aren't those restaurants on the other side of security?  And, to get some Jack Daniels burgers with your girlfriend - you both need to get groped by a federal worker.

it always seemed busy - wonder why they closed it down

The store in NorthPark, yes, the mall with a million teenagers and a theater 100 feet away from it's front doors, closed as well. But I would argue it was very poorly managed.

only in Irving and more particular Las Colinas could the closure of a TGIF be grounds for breaking news.

How has that horrible West End location stay open?
