Memorial Day weekend, a time to stock the cooler, spark up the barbecue, and hang out with friends and family. The holiday is here, and we have a list of local spots that will be celebrating the long weekend by offering up fun, affordable parties.

Idle Rich Pub (2614 McKinney Ave.)
Idle Rich Pub will be cooking up a Memorial Day brunch on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., and serving $5 summer beer, Dublin rum, frozen pomeritas and $2 hot dogs throughout the day. A DJ will start spinning tracks at 9:30 p.m. to keep the party going well into the a.m.

The Old Monk (2847 N. Henderson Ave.)
Old Monk will serve brunch on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. They will be offering $2 PBR cans, $5 summer beer and Dublin rum, $6 purple Jesus as well as beef short rib specials like short rib Benedict, short rib and egg tacos and short rib sliders. A DJ will play beginning at at 10 p.m. and keep the party going into the night.

The Grapevine Bar (3902 Maple Ave.)
The Grapevine is celebrating Memorial Day on Sunday with free hamburgers, hot dogs and spicy links from 1 p.m. until 2 a.m., and the bar will serve $3 drinks from open to close.

Central 214 (5680 North Central Expressway)
Central 214 is celebrating Memorial Day from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday. They will be serving up free burgers, brats and beer (with donation), and while there is no entry fee, donations are encouraged, and 50 percent of proceeds will go to the USO Dallas/Fort Worth.

BlackFriar Pub (2621 McKinney Ave.)
BlackFrair's Memorial Day patio party will take place on Sunday, and specials include $2 hot dogs, $5 summer beer, and $5 frozen margaritas. There will also be live music on the porch at 9:30 p.m.

Buttons Restaurant (Addison) (15207 Addison Road, Addison)
The Blues and BBQ Memorial Day dinner starts at 5 p.m. and will feature a vast assortment of barbecue chow. The meal will be backed by Texas blues music. Visit buttonsrestaurant.com or call 817-735-4900 for more information.

Renfield's Corner (2603 Routh St.)
A DJ will start spinning the Memorial Day party at 9 p.m. on Sunday, and party-goers will receive a free Renfield's koozie with every can of beer purchased (while they last).

Elm Street Bar (2810 Elm St.)
The free Memorial Day cookout kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, and the bar will be serving up $2 wells, margaritas, draft beer, and free barbecue.

Wow! You found all the Sunday happy hour? Holy cow! What insight, the only reason I looked at article was for Monday brunch, no where to be found! Way to go!
