Rum, Watermelon, Now Tequila: Competitions Raise the Bar

All this month, mixologists from Abacus, Rathbun's Blue Plate Kitchen, Jasper's, Shinsei. and Zea WoodFire Grill and have been competing via conjuring up delicious drinks using Ambhar Tequila. The final showdown is set to take place this Sunday at The Flats Aqua Lounge at The Heights at Park Lane and will feature a wide range of tequila-based cocktails and a full menu full of morsels that pair well with tequila. The menu will offer everything from lobster-mango quesadillas with yellow pepper-lime sour cream to fajita-grilled spare ribs, pulled pork and brisket tacos with tomatilla salsa, roasted corn-grilled shrimp nachos, black bean-fajita chicken nachos with watermelon-cilantro pico, Southwestern crab-avocado nachos, skirt steak skewers, and if that's not enough to make your mouth water, there will be crispy churros with blood orange caramel, milk chocolate and vanilla sauces for dessert.

The event takes place this 3 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Sunday at The Flats Aqua Lounge at The Heights at Park Lane, 8066 Park Lane. Tickets cost $100 per person and reservations are required, and can be made by contacting Donna Tanner at 469-867-3681 or donnat@kentrathbun.com.
