Hurry Up and Get a Cheap Marg at Gloria's

glorias.jpg
It's been 25 years since the doors of El Salvadorian restaurant Gloria's opened to the public. Tucked away on West Davis Street in Oak Cliff, the tiny eatery served up some mighty tasty, traditional El Salvadorian meals. Twenty five years later, the itty-bitty, family-run business has erupted into somewhat of a Tex-Mex cartel, with 13 locations in the DFW area, all of which buzz with customers.

The original Oak Cliff location at 600 West Davis St. recently closed its doors for good and has been replaced by a new Gloria's in a renovated fire station down the street. While the change has provoked mixed feelings amongst regulars of the original spot, Gloria's is celebrating the grand reopening of its flagship store and 25 years of business by treating customers to 25 cent margaritas. Seriously.

All Gloria's locations -- including the new Fire Station No. 15 location -- will serve quarter margaritas all day today. The only catch is a three-margarita-limit, but if you've ever had a Gloria's margarita, you probably already know that three is plenty.

I sure hope something else moves into the original location, that's a cool spot.
