The Cause: North Texas Food Bank
In the spirit of take a penny, leave a penny, Panera Bread North Dallas is celebrating its grand opening with Warm Your Soul Wendesdays. Bring in a can of soup on any Wednesday in February, and Panera Bread will return the favor with a free bowl of all-natural chicken soup. All contributions go to the North Texas Food Bank.

The Event: Stacks for Good Acts
The Cause: Children's Miracle Network Hospitals
Writers don't have to starve. IHOP is bringing back its "Stacks for Good Acts" online competition. The contest encourages good Samaritans to write a 250-word or less story about a good act they or someone else did. The winner will win a year's worth of free pancakes, which means one short stack of hotcakes for 365 days.
The deadline is February 25. Winners will be announced on National Pancake Day, March 1. And on that day, guests will be given a free short stack of pancakes and asked to make a voluntary donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Submit stories at www.IHOPPancakeDay.com.
If that's not enough goodness and philanthropy for you, Children's Miracle Network Hospital balloons will be sold for $1 and $5 and personalized at participating IHOP restaurants through March 1st.
