Revolving Doors: Super Bowl Stimulus
Everyone's trying to cash in on the Super Bowl, from those renting their homes for the week, to restaurants and bars offering cheap drinks and food specials to lure in crowds for watching parties. For restaurants that opened their doors in January, the timing couldn't be better, but for the few restaurants that shuttered this month, the casualties came right before the cash cow. With the highly anticipated openings of Lockhart Smokehouse, Alma and Komali this week, February promises to be a month to watch.

Restaurants Opening in January
Elevation Burger, 8611 Hillcrest Road -- The burger chain finally started serving organic and vegan burgers after several delays.
Ketchup Burger Bar, 3028 North Hall St. -- The latest burger joint in Uptown is owned by Farnatchi's Yaser Khalaf.
Goghee To Go, 2222 Inwood Road -- Korean barbecue tacos are trending with the opening of this joint in the former Burguesa Burger space
Boy's Taqueria, 1913 S. Edgefield Ave. -- José Ralat Maldonado paid a visit on the Taco Trail and was impressed with the barbacoa.
Good 2 Go Taco, 1146 Peavy Road -- After vacating The Green Spot last summer, owners Jeana Johnson and Colleen O'Hare are serving tacos again in East Dallas.
Digg's Taco Shop, 6309 Hillcrest Ave. -- The taco joint takes over the digs vacated by Stromboli Café.
BEE: Best Enchiladas Ever, 202 W. Davis St. -- Monica Greene's "enchiladeria" is now open in Oak Cliff.
Malai Thai Vietnamese Kitchen, 3699 McKinney Ave. -- The restaurant had a soft opening last night and is now open for regular lunch and dinner hours.
Restaurants Closing in January
Who's Who Burgers, 69 Highland Park Village -- The longtime Highland Park restaurant is no longer.
Flavors From Afar, 6712 Snider Plaza -- Owners Nancy and Gary Krabill are closing their Snider Plaza shop today, but you can still find their gourmet offerings on Artizone.
The Green Room, 2715 Elm St. -- Despite claims of a relaunch, The Green Room remains dark.
Alma -- Tristan Simon's new venture opens tomorrow in the space that once housed Cuba Libre.
Lockhart Smokehouse -- The wait is almost over as the barbecue joint opens its doors on Wednesday.
Komali -- Sample Abraham Salum's authentic Mexican cuisine on Friday.
Il Cane Russo -- Jay Jerrier's pizza joint is almost ready for its grand opening in Deep Ellum.
The Cedars Social Hour -- John Tesar's latest restaurant will open in February, but local chefs like Tiffany Derry and Matt Macallister will be cooking for the "Supper Bowl" this week.
Marquee -- Tre Wilcox will be serving crowds at the Village Theater in Highland Park Village in March.
The Commissary -- John Tesar's other project will join One Arts Plaza in April.
