This week, Dallas food blogs are tittering about what's new and exciting. We have equal rights for cookies, a new gadget for barbecue, more angles on the possibility of food trucks and (predictably) a new list of places of restaurants willing to work on Christmas Day. And that's just the beginning.
Where's there's smoke, there's...um...more smoke.

Last week a spat erupted between Dallas Morning News food critic Leslie Brenner and Full Custom Gospel BBQ blogger Daniel Vaughn. Pretty much, Vaughn said that Brenner's Best Barbecue in Dallas story over-borrowed from his Best Barbecue cover story. Teresa Gubbins reports that Cedar Hill's Smokehouse Barbecue has an "interesting" way of preparing its brisket: They smoke it for 12 house in something called a Traeger Pellet Smoker, which uses wood pellets for fuel. Something smells like the future.
