Why Texas Is More Awesome Than Your State

• yuck, i tried a freebirds and thought it was nasty. im really not a burrito person though, and there's plenty of taquerias and mexican restaurants already where i live. those taste better and are cheaper. plus we had the original WHATABURGER!!! hell yeah!

• One word: WHATABURGER! I grew up in TX and that's one thing I can remember from childhood.

• Texas is just awesome anyways.... When are we gonna get a steak n shake in west texas.... and chipotle is better than our blessed freebirds..... And it is true AR, CA, etc, everything is better and bigger in Texas... Sorry

• We also have raising canes

• My state is better than your state. Boring.

• @Widget +1 Arizona has Five Guys, In-N-Out and Fat Burger(which is gross). I will not mess with Texas though :)

• Not to bag on this, but Arizona also has Five Guys and In-N-Out. My goal is to send out some friends to get a Whataburger, Five Guys, and an In-N-Out all at the same time and bring it to a central location for a tasting. We'll get to finally determine a true winner.

• We have both of those in California, where In-N-Out originates. Five Guy's is from Virginia. If finally getting what the east and west coast have had for decades makes Texas awesome... I'll stick to where I'm at :)

• We also have both restaurants in Phoenix, AZ area. So, we're awesome, too?

• @Cleyton - any true Freebirds lover would know that the original Freebirds in Santa Barbara is nothing like our loved chain in Texas. True, the original owner purchased the concept from the Santa Barbara location, but the menu and atmosphere is much different.

• Smashburger is also open in Addison.

• I think Smash Burger is better than Five Guys. Smash Burger just opened up in Irving. Also, Five Guys will be opening up soon in Irving also.

• What about twisted Rot and the angry dog? Gotta love Deep Ellum's finest.

• Whataburger, mooyah, in-n-out, 5 guys. Our fat asses love greasy burgers!

• There are too many good hamburger joints for me to choose only one as the best. I like Tommy's, Kincaid's, Fred's Texas Cafe, and Charley's all in Fort Worth. Love Shack, M&O Grill, and Dutch's, et al are supposed to be good too. That said, I am looking forward to In-N-Out opening.

• @Clayton, see Fuel City Tacos, Kincaid's Hamburgers and Kruez Meat Market, and then get back to me with that bridesmaid mess...and if it has to be a chain, i'll take taco bueno over del taco, Paco.

• California actually has both Five Guys and In-N-Out already... as well as Fatburger, Umami, the original Freebirds, and everything else one might try to claim as unique. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride - sorry Texas.

• The last time I was at Five Guys, I noticed what appeared to be a slice of Kraft Single on my cheeseburger. I am by no means a food snob, but that's an ender in my book.
