Cooks Source Hates Puppies

• My explanation for Ms. Griggs not getting it is self preservation. To view herself as she really is after a lifetime of blaming others would be too painful, so she lives in an alternate reality regardless of how silly that reality has been proven to be. Cognitive Dissonance.

• Good article, Alice. I have been following this train wreck since it started and am alternating between laughing at this woman (Griggs) and wanting to cry because she is such a bad commentary on the rest of us writers out here. If you follow her posts, it is obvious that she JUST DOES NOT GET IT. How can anyone have thirty years in the business and be so dense? And write so horrifically bad?

• I mean plagiarise

• Google-fu, great word, first time I've heard it. I'm considering plaguerizing it.

• Jenne, it's true she should have done damage control while it was still possible to control- but the evidence of plagiarism from various sources (see comment by TLS) means that ship has sailed. I still think Monica is owed an apology, but nothing will save Cooks Source at this point if it gets sued. Reputation=shot too, probably

• It's quite hiiarious how, not only does the editor (Judith Griggs,) not understand copyright laws, but also doesn't understand the internet definition of being hacked. People spamming her magazine's page because of her poor judgement does not mean she has been hacked.(Duh, I know.) It's a shame she just won't admit her wrongdoing and move on. Choosing to ignore the situation at hand and continuing to berate people will not help her career in any way. Some people are quite vengeful and this could haunt Ms. Griggs for the rest of her life if she doesn't get off her pedestal.

• You left out the important part of the story. Cooks Source has been found to have plagiarized from many people from Paula Deen to NPR to your regular freelance Joes and Janes. They may have been worth making fun of based on their crap magazine but the discovery of their lack of ethics is what really started the dogpile.
