Hash Over: SMU Foodjects, Dollar Day at Lone Star Park, Free Appetizers at Ferrari's, and More
The Meadows Museum at SMU will be presenting "Foodjects: Design and the New Cuisine in Spain" from Tuesday, July 6, to Monday, July 26. A collaboration of Spanish designers and chefs will display more than 100 creative Spanish cooking and dining implements.
The display will showcase a variety of serving dishes, utensils and kitchen tools like a standard red-wine balloon glass and a traditional communal wine pitcher. It will also include plates and bowls with handles shaped like horses' legs, heads and hooves. OK, then.
The event will also present three Thursday evening public programs. On Thursday, July 8, it will be Saffron to Shellfish, which will be a history of Spanish cuisine with food writer Tina Danze. Café Madrid will also provide food for the evening for $24 per person. On July 15, they will host a discussion over various wines in Spanish regions with a wine tasting also for $24 per person. And the last event will be on July 22, when guests will learn how tableware has evolved over the centuries in Spain. They will have wine and light appetizers for $15.
