Big Daddy Cocktail Demonstrated by Stewart Jones of Abacus

City of Aters, we've decided to take a break from food recipes because its summertime. And summertime, with it's pour-a-gallon-of-sun block-all-over-me-right-now temperatures, should be celebrated with a cocktail.

So we traveled from DO headquarters  to Abacus in Uptown to have the restaurant manager Stewart Jones do some mixin' and shakin' to create the Big Daddy Cocktail--we hear it's a summer favorite. And we agree, because this fruity concoction did not fail when it came to pleasing our taste buds. Too bad we had to go back to work.

For today's AFI, stop at a liquor store on your way home from work and then pull out the tin shakers from the kitchen cabinet, because we're making a cocktail, folks.

Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Grey Goose Orange
1.5 oz. Grey Goose Le-Limon
.50 oz. House-made Sour Mix
.25 oz. House-made Simple Syrup
3 Orange slices
1 Lemon slice

Side note: You can make your own sour mix by combining one cup of sugar, two cups of water, and two cups of fresh lemon juice. Dissolve sugar in the water and add the lemon juice. For the simple syrup, click here for the recipe.
