No. 92: Summer Platter For Two at Big Shucks

Before BP turned the Gulf into a giant Jiffy Lube, we took our seafood for granted. Now it's like the race is on to gobble down a lot more shrimp before it's too late.

Big Shucks' "Summer Platter" is a heaping bowl of the best Cajun-style crack 'ems and peel 'ems. The order arrives under an upturned silver bowl that reveals a half-pound of shrimp (heads on), a half-pound of snow crab legs, a half-pound of sausage, some buttery corn on the cob and a couple of boiled potatoes. Get it with or without the fiery red pepper. And eat it with your hands. At this casual neighborhood eatin' spot, they're so laid-back, you pay on the honor system.
