Top 10 Greatest Cooking Shows Ever

• Great idea this. It is always difficult to thin of varied things to cook especially for a hungry family and some of the ideas here and elsewhere on your site have given me some great ideas so thak you!

• I'm a big Justin Wilson fan, knottygirl. He did some memorable stand up comedy before starting his cooking show career.

• I'm so happy to see Chef included! It may have been a sitcom, but it nailed the grumpy, temperamental chef. Also loved The Frugal Gourmet, and it's the one old show I actually still cook from. The Frugal Gourmet Cooks Italian is one of my favorite cookbooks--the fresh tomato sauce Sicilian is my homemade pizza sauce that people rave over, and the 4-cheese fontina always is a hit for dinner parties. Unfortunately, I once saw Jeff Smith being very rude to a waitress, so I don't like him as a person, but his cooking was great. I would've found room for Justin Wilson on the list somewhere, but otherwise, good job.

• Such a youngster, luniz. Alton Brown presents good information, but the overacting and awkward attempts to be cute or funny make it hard to sift through.

• most of those I guess were before my time. Not an Alton Brown fan?

• And, TLS, how could I have forgotten SCTV's Cooking with LaRue, with John Candy as Johnny LaRue? Oh, well. Count it as #11.
