In this week's paper, Dave checks out Salum, where the lobster to beef tenderloin are complemented but not overwhelmed, and there's plenty to recommend, even if you go for the smaller portions.
For plenty more shots of what the restaurant's got to offer, you can check out this week's photo set by Sara Kerens.
Is that what it says, Momcat? Geez--I submitted it as tasting menu $38 (with lobster, $48). I have this thing about not looking at the paper 'cause I don't want to see who advertises. I think every time there's a computer glitch, it reverts to $12.95.
Great review, Dave. Read the print version last night. Your descriptions of the chef's dishes made my mouth water.
This place is now on the 'must go' list!
On question - Is the information in the box correct (Tasting menu with lobster $12.95)?
Luniz, I was the same way, until I went! I took my best friend to dinner there for his birthday, and had a terrific time. The food was amazing! It's not fancy, but it is solid and well prepared. Meats were cooked perfectly, sauces were delicious and not overpowering. Leann is a friend from the Ciudad days, so it was great to see her. Abraham has a solid kitchen staff, so he is able to play host to his customers as well as cook for them. It is definitely a neighborhood gem!
yet another place that I really feel like I'm missing out by not having been. (wow that's a bad sentence). Although I look at the menu and it doesn't particularly excite me.
