In this week's issue of the Observer, Dave Faries visits Fruia's Tre Amici, the self-styled steakhouse "with Italian flair." Check out his review here.
As an added bonus for food porn fanatics, we present a gallery of photos from the restaurant, as seen through the lens of Sara Kerens. You'll find that slideshow here.
I check out the DO prior to many nights on the town. I drive by Tre amici a lot so I stopped in with my girlfriend for dinner. The food was really good and the piano guy was cool. We stayed after dinner longer than planned and just listened to him. Much cooler than the other steak places in town.
You were so in love with your meal that you decided to track down a blog on which to share your great experience when you got back to your hotel, Nino? How very thoughtful of you. I especially applaud your touches of pseudo-Italian to lend an air of authenticity (to anyone who doesn't speak Italian, at least). This was one of the more creative shill posts you've authored, "Nino," rivaled only by your Engrish posts on Chowhound in which you alerted readers to Tre Amici's desperate Chinese New Year promotion.
Last night the concierge from the Hotel Intercontinental, recommended me about this new Italian Steakhouse. And the rest is a dream. Ravioli Di Vitello a la Piemontese. Madonna Mia. WOW. No words to explain this. We have the ravioli as appetizer, Spinach an arugula salad perfeto. And after this I order the 9 oz tenderloin or Fileto Manzo al messo-sangue "MED-RARE" was cook right, NO salt and pepper needed, we order for the table roasted mushrooms and risotto Dio mio no parole. My server recommended me the spumoni because he notices I was the only Italian at the table and I feel the real Italian touch. Mile Grazzie Tre Amici.
Isn't food porn of Tre Amici kind of like porn porn of Helen Hunt?
