(Roberto Burdese, president of Slow Food, responding to the Italian town of Lucca--near Florence--and its effort to ban anything but native restaurants within city limits. No French, no Chinese and no Chicago-style pizza. The measure has sparked somewhat intense debate. Many have pointed out that such Italian staples as, say, tomatoes originated elsewhere.
